The El Valle walking group is a popular group within the Asociación. It is not unusual for 20 or 30 members to meet up and be led on their monthly walks around the area. Members take it in turn to plan a route and these obviously vary in length (usually 2 hours) and difficulty according to the route setter. To date some of the group have also walked to the top of Maroma on several occasions!
You don’t have to be over-fit to join in the walks but do remember that some of the routes may be over rough ground and, due to the nature of the area, there are bound to be a few climbs and descents! Wear suitable footware and take adequate clothing and water.
As a rule the group try to attend a local restaurant for a menu del dia after their walks and this provides an ideal opportunity to relax and talk about the days walk. This is not compulsory and no-one will think the worse of you if you don’t fancy a bite!
Write ups about previous walks can be found in the monthly Newsletters. Future walks are advertised both in the monthly Newsletter and on the current events page of this website.
